I'm wondering about Prokoth too.  Thinking about my ruler's plans for her people is difficult without any framework.  Do we get to request features in our country, such as grass lands, caves, forests and such?

100% agreed... and it goes far beyond these "foundational" details... What about democraphics etc? I'm really stuck on the idea that my land is strongly biased towards an elven ruler because of the high magic in my realm. I also dont like being told that my ruler keeps her realm wild... At this point I no longer have control over my own ruler let alone my Queendom 🙁

Heya!

A map's a map! Stories can be made anywhere!

My concern is the limited influence we of the small council seem to be given. on our countries 🙂
Perhaps we're just in phase one so far (and Erik chose the right one for me hands down). But I'm wondering if we get to choose where cities / towns etc are placed in our lands? Names of provinces? Change the preset name of our nations etc? I currently have no investment in the assigned name to Queen Nausicaa nation because I didn't get contribute to my country!

I will provide more detail regarding these issues in the Small Council area, but generally speaking:

1) The names are all changeable. They are placeholders that N2 created from a name generator.

2) Where the cities and provinces are hasn't yet been determined, so that is up for speculation. If you have a strong preference, go ahead and relate it.

3) Your country has basically no development done yet. If you would like to be part of developing it, that's fine--I'm not sure what you feel shackled by.

1) Apologies, there seems to be a misunderstanding here. I think we pushed a kingdom toward you in error. I'll reassess and find one that makes more sense. We want to work with you here.

2) Demographics are undeveloped. Your kingdom may be populated by any sort of peoples you want. Humans are the kind of default, most numerous people of Ceres, but you have nearly unlimited flexibility.

(Replied by point using *** to indicates my responses!)

I will provide more detail regarding these issues in the Small Council area, but generally speaking:

1) The names are all changeable. They are placeholders that N2 created from a name generator. ***Great! Thank you for the clarification!***

2) Where the cities and provinces are hasn't yet been determined, so that is up for speculation. If you have a strong preference, go ahead and relate it. ***Great! Thank you! I realize we have lots of time still (from my perspective), but as a result of not knowing where my Qeendom is yet I will wait to see where she is situated first.***

3) Your country has basically no development done yet. If you would like to be part of developing it, that's fine--I'm not sure what you feel shackled by. *** Until now, I've seen no clarification on the degree of work done or influence I'd have on my nation other than the one comment made to me on my initial Queendom's link. That, nor any of the communication since clarified SC influence or individual nation creation updates. ***

-----------

1) Apologies, there seems to be a misunderstanding here. N2 and I picked this kingdom specifically based on your description of your ruler. Did you not describe an elven ruler? Did you not describe having a highly magical realm? That's fine if your concept is changing, but please talk with us first, rather than start claiming you have no control. I'm happy to make adjustments and give you a whole new kingdom to work on if it doesn't fit with your concept. That's fine. We want to work with you here. ***Thank you, and you're neither wrong nor unjustified in your comment. My claim of no control was certainly based off an increasing fear that I was not getting a say. The word 'wild' is specifically what motivated my concerns***

2) One constraint we might be running into is the concept of magic having an inverse relationship with civilization. That's part of N2's vision for the setting. If you want a highly magical realm, odds are you're going to be high in magic assets but low in others. That said, there might be a kingdom that better fits your character. *** I do believe my vision / your established realm for Nausicaa is ideal still if the narrative of the realm is indeed malleable. When the nation was described as 'wild' I'm envisioning sprawling jungle / forests etc. a realm where the nature is encouraged to consume the local areas. I've since the start, envisioned her realm being highly magical (low civ is fine) in one central spot / province around the university). and naturally (agrarian or undeveloped) everywhere else. is this a posibility? or must a high magic realm be wild throughout the realm?***

3) Demographics are undeveloped. Your kingdom may be populated by any sort of peoples you want. Humans are the kind of default, most numerous people of Ceres, but you have nearly unlimited flexibility. *** I am leaning towards an elf or half elfas I mentioned in my early post, and as you mention above, but I'm still waiting to hear if half elves are a posibility. ***

*** I feel like I should reiterate my love for this project at this point. I realize my engagement could come across as aggressive here, but I'd like you personally, and SoW professionally to know that not only am I hugely on side with your project and thankful for your work, but I am also eager to start building Nausicaa's place on Ceres. But as it is, Its not clear to me what I can or can not do. I posted an idea and the about my country and have had minimal activity with that other than to be told what was shared here.***

*** I just want more information before I'm able to meet the Feb 28th deadline, eitherway, feel free to move or eliminate this note and the relevent ones above. Even I'm uncomfortable having this conversation in the open attached to the Map chain. This should be a small council thing / PM thing and I dont want this is have any kind of negative impact on the community, I just want to communicate where my concerns are coming from and why I'm feeling /saying what I am.

THANK YOU, for the creative genius you are putting together!***

Or, let's see if I can capture all your questions in your thread about your NPC ruler. I'd rather keep the discussion there.

For everyone else, yes half-elves are a possibility. When I said "all standard fantasy races," I meant it. Anything in the D&D PHB will be present in Ceres, though we might not call them the same thing (for instance, "dragonborn" and "tiefling" are both terms that WotC owns, so we're not going to call them by those names). 🙂
