So what campaign(s) are you running/playing right now?
...and do you hope/intend to port it over to SoW when it's out?
I'm a player in a post-apocalyptic Cypher System game and DM of a Shadow of the Demon Lord campaign, still in its early beginnings, in a homebrew setting. The former is probably not SoW material, but the latter could be if the players manage to make something out of themselves... and if there's enough of the world left by then. 🤭
I'm mastering a Sandbox campaign in a homemade setting for 3 years, using the frenchmade version of the eldest of the older most popular RPG (a.k.a Héros & Dragons).
As players are free to do what they want, they will certainly ask to be regent... So I wonder SoW will be usefull.
currently running a 3 year long birth wrong campaign using 5th ed dnd so probably not going to use seeds of war on that one but when it’s out planing on running a guilds of ravnica dnd game using it and mtg (still lots to work out on that) then after that a mate of mine is planing on running a large a long running seed of wars Vampire the mascarade start the characters as mortals running around in Roman empire getting the embrace before becoming the god kings of cities and then running them through the different ages till we hit modern era. Also playing at the moment an Anima game but that’s in its infancy
Running Star Wars Saga and The Riddle of Steel. The first I won't move into Seeds of War. The second one, this particular campaign probably won't (between the characters and the story it doesn't have the trajectory) but I definitely see a possibility of a future TROS game going that route.
Running a 3 year long D&D 5E Campaign based on the 9-10th Century England mashed up with some religious strife from the Reformation.
It is a political hotbed where the King has called all his knights and barons to Crusade. Several years later, the Kingdom is beginning to tear itself apart as all the "second rate" Lords left behind to run the lands begin to jockey for position and power. Add to that the heroes, who inject "modern sensibilities" into the feudal structure of the realm and not even the peasants know who to believe or what is going on.
And oh yes, SoW will be ported over it all. I've been starving for realm rules since the Birthright Campaign fizzled out.
I'm in a solar punk champions game (well, Hero System 5th ed), and an old school d6 Star Wars game. I don't expect my characters to ever become major powers in either game (one is an FBI agent with psychic powers and the other is a freelance smuggler with a few Force powers).
I'm running a future fantasy game using Hero System (what can I say, I like to kick it old school), and my PCs in that one could end up controlling major assets if we play long enough, so Seeds of Wars could end up useful in managing that one. I'm also running a Delta Green game set in 1909, and the PCs are currently lost in time and space. I think they'll probably go mad or be eaten by something before they end up in major positions of power, but we'll see. 🙂
Currently I am playing in three games. One is 4e D&D Forgotten Realms, another is 4e D&D Spelljammer, and another is a 5e Hexcrawl. I am planning on running a game when SoW comes out using SoW and I was planning on using the SoW setting and probably using 4e D&D or possibly 13th Age but my choice of setting is up for inspiration.
